In Year 1, emphasis is placed on a more formalised approach to learning. The essential skills in literacy, numeracy and handwriting are revised and extended though formal and practical lessons. Organisation skills, independence and respect are actively promoted whilst interest, curiosity and creativity are stimulated leading to a true love for self-improvement.

In Year 2 the pace of learning accelerates towards appropriate preparations based on the aspirations you have for your child. Boys are prepared for the 7+ entrance examinations into prestigious British schools in particular Colet Court, King's College Wimbledon and Shrewsbury House. Girls are prepared for continuation at Putney Park or, at parents' request, for entrance examinations for school such as Putney High School and Bute House. We have a tradition of considerable success which is why so many parents chose Putney Park School.

Year 3 is the last year that boys are able to remain at Putney Park School. Preparation is continued for the 8+ entrance examinations at the schools of the parents' choice. Once again considerable success is achieved. Girls now begin their preparation for the 11+ examination into either Putney Park Upper School or local High Schools.
